DocPort is a logistics and documentation management system commissioned by the government of Estonia for managing port operations. The system handles the complete lifecycle of port documentation — from cargo manifests and customs clearance to regulatory compliance and real-time operational status. Built to institutional-grade reliability standards, DocPort handles high-volume workflows across multiple government agencies.
Estonian port authorities were managing critical logistics documentation through fragmented paper-based and spreadsheet workflows. Customs officers, logistics coordinators, and port operators had no unified view of ongoing operations, leading to delays, compliance risks, and manual reconciliation errors. The system needed to meet strict government security and reliability requirements while remaining accessible on mobile devices across the port premises.
We designed a cross-platform Flutter application with a Laravel backend delivering a real-time, role-based operations platform. The architecture separates concerns cleanly: customs officers, logistics managers, and port operators each see a tailored interface while sharing a unified data layer. All document flows are tracked with timestamped audit trails, and the system enforces compliance checklists at each stage of the port operation lifecycle.
Full lifecycle tracking for cargo manifests, customs forms, and compliance documents with version control.
Granular permission system for government officers, logistics staff, and port operators.
Live port operation status dashboards with instant updates across all connected devices.
Automated compliance checklists that enforce regulatory requirements at each operational stage.
Complete, tamper-evident audit logs for every document action — critical for government accountability.
Optimized for port-floor use on iOS and Android devices with offline capability for low-connectivity areas.
